Most of my work is concerned with vernacular architecture, especially of the “celtic fringes” of Wales, Ireland and Scotland but also the higher slopes of the Alps.

Sketchbook examples

I use a waterproof fineliner pen in a moleskine concertina sketchbook. I draw impatiently in open line or with minimal tonal work using a pentel grey brush pen for tone.

project - demise of the rural welsh filling station

In 2013 I embarked upon an Arts Wales funded project documenting the struggle of rural filling stations in Wales. The exhibition was shown at MoMA Machynlleth in 2014.
